Dr. Taichi Ohno ( 1912 - 1990 )

All we are doing is looking at the time line, from the moment the customer gives us an order to the point when we collect the cash. And we are reducing the time line by reducing the non-value adding wastes.

Lean originally started out as "TOYOTA PRODUCTION SYSTEM" which is a management philosophy developed by the founders of Toyota motor co, in early 1950s. It evolution & rise to fame came under Dr.Taiichi Ohno, who was a Toyota executive and one of the chief architects of the Toyota Production System .TPS was originally called "just-in-time production".

The main objectives of the TPS are to design out overburden (muri) and inconsistency (mura), and to eliminate waste (muda) from the work processes.

Kaizen - the concept Continuous Improvement is also at the heart of the Toyota production system
